Michael Stirling – Managing Director

Michael has built his career in commercial businesses where he specialised in Human Resources.  He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.  He is also a qualified Business and Executive Coach through Smurfit Business School, a CEDR accredited Mediator and qualified through the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators as a Corporate and Workplace investigator.

Michael provides practical support to companies to manage the people aspects of their organisation.  This includes organisation restructure and change; performance management; executive coaching; executive career transition; executive selection, workplace investigations and mediation.

He has held senior HR roles in ‘blue chips’ including Cadbury, IBEC, Woodchester Credit Lyonnais, GE Capital, and most recently CRH. He has significant experience of developing and implementing strategies to support mergers & acquisitions, change leadership and maximising leadership team capability. He has designed innovative, practical approaches to support changed business circumstances including organisation restructure and development. He has extensive Industrial Relations experience.

As HR Director, CRH Europe, Products & Distribution, he was responsible for strategic direction and implementation of the division’s approach to organisation development and people management. In recent years this involved major restructuring, delayering and cost containment whilst maintaining productivity and a positive work environment.

He developed his HR skills in a range of sectors including financial services, distribution, consulting, manufacturing and building materials. He has led change in union and non-union environments.

Brian Clarke – Director

Brian has extensive experience of HR practice at worldwide level. He served on the Executive Worldwide Compensation design committee of a major business and was seconded to consult with a Harvard Business School team on Strategic HR. He has held leadership roles operating across multiple geographies and industries. He has wide experience in cost reduction, process design and plant layout. A graduate in Industrial Engineering, with a Masters in Management and Membership of the CIPD, he is also qualified in MTM & Six Sigma techniques.

Brian has significant achievements in industrial relations. His responsibilities have included multi-union sites, leading negotiations, representation at Labour Court, Rights Commissioner and Equality Tribunal hearings (fore runners to the adjudicating officers and WRC). He has led productivity negotiations across a wide variety of businesses, restructured organisations and downsized workforces.

Most recently he was Managing Partner of Ireland’s premier executive search company. He supported ‘blue chip’ clients in the life sciences, banking and insurance sectors.

His career includes working with Johnson Matthey Engineers in London, Cadbury Ireland, Becton Dickinson in Ireland and France, GE and Amrop Hever Executive Search, Ireland.

Vincent Houlihan – Senior Consultant

Vincent works specifically on selection and executive career transition.

Vincent initially trained and worked in education mainly in the vocational sector before moving to industry where he held Training Management roles with Donnelly Mirrors and Unigate (Ireland).

Later he held senior HR Management roles with multinationals in Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals and I.T. He played key roles in driving corporation-wide change programmes in the U.S., Ireland and Belgium.

Vincent’s experience in HR Management has developed a broad range of HR skills with particular focus on Industrial Relations, Performance Management, Downsizing, Training and Development. He has a special interest in the implementation of change to Occupational Pension Plans. Most recently he was involved in restructuring and implementing a revised Pension plan across three large manufacturing sites in Ireland.

Kevin MacCourt – Senior Consultant

Kevin works with Bridgespan as a coach and specifically is involved in the areas of senior executive development and organization change.

Kevin focuses on providing executive coaching, leadership development and training / change management solutions to individuals and organisations seeking to improve their performance.  He is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland and a member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council.

Kevin worked in the financial services sector for most of his career to date. He has fifteen years senior management experience working in Financial Services. In his role as Head of Learning & Development at AIB, Kevin had executive accountability for the delivery of all Learning, Development and Education services, through a team of 90 staff, to 14,500 employees, across all functional business areas and geographic locations in the AIB Group.

Bobbi McDermott – Admin and Office Manager

Bobbi is responsible for managing logistics, interfacing with clients and supporting the team as required.

Bobbi began her career in Banking and then spent 5 years as a Personal Assistant in the Private Equity Sector in London and has since then worked as an Executive Assistant in Dublin.  She has gained solid experience in many different fields including Corporate, Business Commercialisation, Business Consulting, Medical, Banking, Retail, Fashion, HR Advisory and Hospitality.  In various roles she has been involved in project management, research, event coordination, office management, CRM systems and various other administrative duties.
