Michael Stirling – Managing Director
Michael has built his career in commercial businesses where he specialised in Human Resources. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also a qualified Business and Executive Coach through Smurfit Business School, a CEDR accredited Mediator and qualified through the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators as a Corporate and Workplace investigator.
Michael provides practical support to companies to manage the people aspects of their organisation. This includes organisation restructure and change; performance management; executive coaching; executive career transition; executive selection, workplace investigations and mediation.
He has held senior HR roles in ‘blue chips’ including Cadbury, IBEC, Woodchester Credit Lyonnais, GE Capital, and most recently CRH. He has significant experience of developing and implementing strategies to support mergers & acquisitions, change leadership and maximising leadership team capability. He has designed innovative, practical approaches to support changed business circumstances including organisation restructure and development. He has extensive Industrial Relations experience.
As HR Director, CRH Europe, Products & Distribution, he was responsible for strategic direction and implementation of the division’s approach to organisation development and people management. In recent years this involved major restructuring, delayering and cost containment whilst maintaining productivity and a positive work environment.
He developed his HR skills in a range of sectors including financial services, distribution, consulting, manufacturing and building materials. He has led change in union and non-union environments.
Sinéad Spain– Director
Sinéad has over 25 years Human Resources and senior management experience gained across a number of diverse Financial Services organisations. Her experience covers the support of businesses with operations based in Ireland, UK, mainland Europe, US, Canada, Japan and Australia.
Prior to joining Bridgespan, Sinéad was HR Director and senior management team member of Ireland’s second largest life assurance company, New Ireland Assurance Company plc. Previously, she was HR Director at Bank of Ireland’s former global asset management business, Bank of Ireland Asset Management having worked in a variety of HR and training roles in GE Capital, Woodchester Investments plc and KPMG earlier in her career.
Sinéad has significant experience in a broad range of HR related activities, including managing restructuring projects and the HR elements of a variety of merger, acquisition and integration projects. Her expertise also includes the creation of training and development strategies, executive coaching, the management of senior level recruitment campaigns, union negotiation and the development of complex compensation and benefits structures.
Sinéad holds a first class honours MSc in Organisational Development and Change from UCD Smurfit School of Business and a BA in Human Resource Management from the National College of Ireland. She is a chartered MCIPD member and is a qualified Mediator through The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ireland).
Brian Clarke – Director
Brian has extensive experience of HR practice at worldwide level. He served on the Executive Worldwide Compensation design committee of a major business and was seconded to consult with a Harvard Business School team on Strategic HR. He has held leadership roles operating across multiple geographies and industries. He has wide experience in cost reduction, process design and plant layout. A graduate in Industrial Engineering, with a Masters in Management and Membership of the CIPD, he is also qualified in MTM & Six Sigma techniques.
Brian has significant achievements in industrial relations. His responsibilities have included multi-union sites, leading negotiations, representation at Labour Court, Rights Commissioner and Equality Tribunal hearings (fore runners to the adjudicating officers and WRC). He has led productivity negotiations across a wide variety of businesses, restructured organisations and downsized workforces.
Most recently he was Managing Partner of Ireland’s premier executive search company. He supported ‘blue chip’ clients in the life sciences, banking and insurance sectors.
His career includes working with Johnson Matthey Engineers in London, Cadbury Ireland, Becton Dickinson in Ireland and France, GE and Amrop Hever Executive Search, Ireland.
Margaret Masterson – Senior Consultant
Margaret focuses on specialist HR Consultancy and Executive Coaching assignments, working with CEOs, management and individuals. Recent assignments have involved working with the management of fast-growing mid-sized companies to address their HR and business challenges. Her work has ranged across financial services; design; motor; manufacturing and healthcare companies, focusing on Organisational Design; Management Development; Talent Management; Coaching; Executive Selection; Specialist Recruitment; Career Transition; Performance Management and Strategic HR planning.
Margaret has 20 years HR and business experience gained in financial services and business consultancy. She spent 15 years in Executive and Senior HR roles at Bank of Ireland Group, leading Divisional Business Partnering teams for Capital Markets and Functional areas for employees in Ireland, UK and USA. During this time, Margaret also managed the Groups’ HR Strategy development process and team, and led large-scale strategic business projects, for example HR Transformation and Pensions Review.
Margaret holds a Bachelor of Commerce (HRM) from University College Dublin. She is an accredited Professional Coach with an Honours Diploma in Executive Coaching from UCC/IMI. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) and the Association of Coaching Ireland
Vincent Houlihan – Senior Consultant
Vincent works specifically on selection and executive career transition.
Vincent initially trained and worked in education mainly in the vocational sector before moving to industry where he held Training Management roles with Donnelly Mirrors and Unigate (Ireland).
Later he held senior HR Management roles with multinationals in Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals and I.T. He played key roles in driving corporation-wide change programmes in the U.S., Ireland and Belgium.
Vincent’s experience in HR Management has developed a broad range of HR skills with particular focus on Industrial Relations, Performance Management, Downsizing, Training and Development. He has a special interest in the implementation of change to Occupational Pension Plans. Most recently he was involved in restructuring and implementing a revised Pension plan across three large manufacturing sites in Ireland.
Anne-Marie Taylor – Senior Consultant
Anne-Marie was formerly a Senior Executive with Accenture where her roles included management consultancy, Director of Operations and Director of HR for the Irish consulting office and Director of Operations in the European Shared Service Centre. She held both Irish and International positions.
Anne-Marie specialises in programme management. Sample assignments include the introduction of digital subscriptions for The Irish Times, a change programme for a financial institution, and programme management for The Gathering Ireland 2013. She has significant experience of implementing change management, business process design, process improvement and operations management programmes.
She is a director of the National Treatment Purchase Fund and the Public Appointments Service, and is a member of the Preliminary Proceedings Committee of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. She is on the steering committee of the 30% Club Ireland and is a mentor with the WoW programme. She holds a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Michael Smurfit Business School in UCD.
Kevin MacCourt – Senior Consultant
Kevin works with Bridgespan as a coach and specifically is involved in the areas of senior executive development and organization change.
Kevin focuses on providing executive coaching, leadership development and training / change management solutions to individuals and organisations seeking to improve their performance. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland and a member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council.
Kevin worked in the financial services sector for most of his career to date. He has fifteen years senior management experience working in Financial Services. In his role as Head of Learning & Development at AIB, Kevin had executive accountability for the delivery of all Learning, Development and Education services, through a team of 90 staff, to 14,500 employees, across all functional business areas and geographic locations in the AIB Group.
Leisha McGrath – Occupational Psychologist
Leisha is a Registered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the Psychological Society of Ireland and a member of their Division of Work and Organisational Psychology and Coaching groups. She is also a Chartered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and member of their special interest Coaching group. She has a Masters in Occupational Psychology from Goldsmiths College and a first class honours International degree from University College Dublin and Université de Lille 3. She also has a Diploma in Coaching from the Coach Institute of Ireland and is a Member of the Association for Coaching. Leisha’s early career saw her establishing and managing busy HR Departments, and she supported the growth of these organisations through the introduction of a range of best practice HR initiatives. She has worked in consultancy for over a decade, and her clients range from SMEs to large scale private and public sector institutions. Leisha’s special interests are psychometrics, coaching, talent and change management.
She has lectured at university level and has had several articles published in professional publications and national newspapers. She was part of the CIPD award winning team in 2007 for Business Planning processes.
Bobbi McDermott – Admin and Office Manager
Bobbi is responsible for managing logistics, interfacing with clients and supporting the team as required.
Bobbi began her career in Banking and then spent 5 years as a Personal Assistant in the Private Equity Sector in London and has since then worked as an Executive Assistant in Dublin. She has gained solid experience in many different fields including Corporate, Business Commercialisation, Business Consulting, Medical, Banking, Retail, Fashion, HR Advisory and Hospitality. In various roles she has been involved in project management, research, event coordination, office management, CRM systems and various other administrative duties.
